Hi there!
I am Eloise Brown. Thank you for stepping foot upon my donations page. Here is a bit about me: I love the outdoors, adventure and travelling to new places. My main interests are drawing, writing and of course, hiking! I'm super excited to be joining the STV Windeward Bound upon their Youth Leadership Voyage in December 2026. This is a 10-day voyage that departs from Hobart and travels at the mercy of the wind and currents, under the Captain's command. During this experience, I will be part of a team of 18 youth, learning to sail, climbing the 24-metre mast to set and furl sails, operate on watch rotations both day and night, steer and navigate, maintain the galley, clean the vessel, applying real-world STEM and eventually learning to crew the boat by ourselves for an entire 24 hours. This will teach me lifelong skills such as the ability to work with a team in extreme conditions, communication skills, leadership experience and resilience that I can take back to my community through my volunteering and participation in both youth organisations Scouts and Girl Guides. I am very active in my community volunteering and assisting a number of different charities including the Mt Gravatt Environment Group, The Kokoda Youth Foundation and Ocean Crusaders. I am also currently working on my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and King Scout Award.
I am so excited that I've been selected for an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime voyage! I’m raising $12,000 to support the Windeward Bound Trust, blowing past my minimum target of $2,950 to make an even bigger difference. Every dollar raised ensures that young people from all walks of life—regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, get the life-changing opportunity to come on board. II am hoping to cover the full cost of 4 youth on a STV Windeward Bound Youth Leadership Voyage. I'd love if you would be able to donate to help me reach this goal—every single dollar counts! Thank you so much for your support.
❤️ Eloise

Wow, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For believing in me and supporting my fundraiser so far. I have now gone past my 2nd fundraising goal of $7,500 due to some very generous persons. I'm now aiming for $9,000 - to cover the full cost of 3 participants! Please help me reach my third goal.
1.10.2026 - Today I returned from Papua New Guinea, after completing the 96 km Kokoda Track. My family and I hiked for 9 days as part of a tour group, in the mountainous regions of PNG. We were walking in the footsteps of the Australian soldiers who fought the Japanese in battles in the region during July - Nov 1942. The days were hot and humid, the mountains steep, with over 6,000 metres of elevation climbed, and similarly steep down hills, treading over tree roots and rough terrain with each step. It was a deeply moving and at the same time incredible experience.
13.9.2026 - Today I completed the 10 km Bridge to Brisbane event. I ran most of the way, with a bit of fast walking added in here and there. I had a great time and completed it in 1 hour and 19 minutes.
